The Canvas LMS provides a seamless environment for students, teachers, and parents to access course content, assignments/assessments, grades, and attendance, along with the integration of additional technology tools such as OneDrive and Office 365. This brief video highlights the system’s benefits.
Canvas Observer (Parent) FAQ
Tips to remember:
Canvas works best with Chrome as the browser.
Students must be logged into their own accounts to submit assignments.
Parents must use a laptop or desktop computer to initially set up their accounts.
What is a pairing code and how do I get one? A pairing code links your student’s information directly to your Observer account. Pairing codes are generated from the student account and are a random series of letters and numbers. Screen shot for generating a pairing code from the Student Dashboard are below:
Where can I get a copy of my student’s report card? Please contact the school directly for official grade reports. You can, however, view a student’s current grades by clicking on the View Grades button on the right side of the screen. If you observe multiple students, please have the student log into their account at home and click on View Grades in order to isolate their specific information.
My student cannot remember their login information. Can you reset their password? Passwords are reset at the local school or through our Technology Department. Student password reset is found on the CCSD website, www.cherokeek12.net (see below):
The Canvas Parent Help Desk does not have the ability to reset student passwords.
