The Cherokee County School Board regularly visits schools to meet with Principals and tour classrooms to see teachers and students at work. On Wednesday, the School Board, joined by Superintendent of Schools Dr. Brian V. Hightower and senior staff members, visited Johnston Elementary School, led by Principal Laura Akers. The group learned about the school’s new positive behavior and culture initiatives like Cat Packs, as well as efforts by teachers to share best practices for effective instruction through their Professional Learning Community job-alike group meetings.
