The Cherokee County School District has published its second annual Comprehensive Annual Financial Report, which is considered the gold standard in government financial reporting.
The report, compiled by Chief Financial Officer Kenneth Owen and the Office of Financial Management, contains financial records already created by CCSD, such as budgets, audits and management reports, but presents them all in one consolidated publication.
“We are committed to transparency, and Mr. Owen and his staff are to be applauded for taking CCSD to the highest level of accountability,” Superintendent of Schools Dr. Brian V. Hightower said. “Completing this time-consuming report on behalf of the School Board is not required, but it shows our taxpayers how dedicated we are to responsible use of the resources they entrust to us.”
The report, as well as numerous other financial and operational records, all are housed in the Open CCSD transparency section of CCSD’s website: https://www.cherokeek12.net/Content2/open-ccsd
