Two Cherokee County School District schools have earned national recognition from the PTA!
Clark Creek Elementary School STEM Academy and Mill Creek Middle School have been named National Schools of Excellence by the parent and teacher organization.
This top honor celebrates schools with the Nation’s strongest partnerships between PTAs and schools to “improve the educational experience and school environment for every child.” In order to earn this honor, schools must demonstrate that families feel “welcomed and empowered to support student success,” and that PTA is valued as a partner in continuous school improvement.
“We love our PTAs,” Superintendent of Schools Dr. Brian V. Hightower said. “Recognition by this important organization at the national level is strong evidence of how much we value our partnership. Congratulations to both of these excellent schools – we’re proud of you!”
Both schools already were on the agenda for tonight's Cherokee County School Board’s meeting to be recognized by the Board and Dr. Hightower for State-level PTA awards, and now will be congratulated for this honor as well.
