CCSD Teacher Earns 2019 Educator Award from Yale University

Posted On: Monday, September 23, 2019

Dr. Wendy Roberts of Sequoyah High School has won the 2019 Yale Educator Award – one of only 55 teachers worldwide to be honored.

The Award recognizes outstanding educators from around the world “who support and inspire their students to perform at high levels and to achieve excellence long before they attend Yale,” according to the University.

More than 300 nominations were submitted by students entering Yale's Class of 2023; a University committee reviewed each nomination to select honorees. Dr. Roberts was nominated by Yale freshman and Class of 2019 Sequoyah High School graduate Natasha Ambriz-Villela.
