Board Authority
The Cherokee County Board of Education is charged by the Georgia Constitution and by the Official Code of Georgia with the responsibility of management and control of all public schools within Cherokee County. The School Board provides the authority to the Superintendent of Schools to implement established Policy and manage the schools and School District within those School Board Policies. Board Members will not individually or wholly micromanage the Superintendent in the daily operations of the School District. Board Members will be accountable to the public for the wise and prudent use of public funds. The School Board holds the Superintendent responsible for carrying out its Policies within established guidelines and for keeping the School Board informed in a timely manner about school operations.
