For each visitor to our web page, our web server automatically recognizes the visitor's IP address/Domain name combination. We may collect IP Address/Domain Name combination of visitors to our web pages, the e-mail addresses of those who post information on Cherokee County School District web sites and/or the e-mail addresses of those who communicate with us via e-mail. Currently, we do not use cookies to collect information.

If you send us an electronic mail message with a question or comment that contains personally identifying information, or fill out a form that e-mails us this information, we will only use the personally-identifiable information to respond to your request and analyze trends. We may redirect your message to another department or person who is in a better position to answer your question, or benefit from your comments.

All electronic mail messages delivered to a Cherokee County School District employee, office, elected official or any other governmental entity, are subject to the Georgia Open Records Act. This means that the messages received are subject to possible disclosure to any person making an appropriate request to see such information, pursuant to the Act.

For site management functions, information regarding any access to the Cherokee County School District Web site is collected for analysis and statistical purposes. This information is not reported or used in any manner that would reveal personally-identifiable information and will not be released to any outside parties unless legally required to do so.

Internet Protocol Address: a 32-bit number assigned to your Internet service provider or computer to identify requests for information sent from and to your computer.

Domain Name: the name used to identify an organization or entity on the the Internet. Your Internet service provider has a domain name (e.g., bellsouth.net, comcast.com).

Cookie: a text file that a web site can place on your computer or the server to track information about your visit. Some web servers use this information to gather customer information and to supply specific information for specific constituents. To detect when cookies are being sent, or to prevent them from being sent, set your browser to warn you when a web site attempts to place a cookie on your computer.
