CCSD Message: Digital Learning Days - March 11-12, 2021 CCSD_Identity_stacked_CMYK

On behalf of the Superintendent, all CCSD schools will be closed for in-person learning on Thursday, March 11, and Friday, March 12, 2021 in order to administer COVID-19 vaccinations to CCSD employees.  We understand this closing may create hardships, but it is the best way for our organization, in partnership with the Department of Public Health (DPH), to quickly vaccinate all interested CCSD employees as soon possible.

CCSD Student Wins Third Place in National Humanities Contest CCSD Humanities Bee Winner 3 2 21

A Cherokee County School District student placed in the top three in the National Humanities Bee!

Creekland Middle School seventh-grader Abigail Moore won third place at the national competition, which was held virtually for this school year.  The academic bowl-style event tests middle and elementary school students’ knowledge in literature, art history and technique, music history and theory, dance, film, religion, mythology, and philosophy.

A Cherokee County School District student’s history essay is headed to National competition!

Creekland Middle School sixth-grader Abbie Rickert won the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution’s American History Essay Contest at both the Hightower Trail Chapter, Northwest Georgia District level and the State level.  The annual essay contest is for fifth- through eighth-grade students and has a different theme each year.  This year, the essay theme was “The Boston Massacre,” commemorating the 250th anniversary of this event.

CCSD Board Business Briefs: New School Leader Appointments CCSD new leaders 2 12 21

The Cherokee County School Board on Thursday, Feb. 11, 2021, approved several appointments for CCSD school leadership roles for next school year.

As part of the monthly personnel report, the School Board accepted the retirements of many longtime educators throughout CCSD including Bascomb Elementary School Principal Kathleen Chandler.
