A Director for the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) visited Creekland Middle School last week to see first-hand how CCSD teachers are incorporating technology in the classroom. Carolyn Sykora, Senior Director for ISTE Standards Programs, was in Atlanta for a technology conference but also made time to visit Cherokee County and the State Department of Education.  Cherokee County adopted the ISTE standards in 2018 which provides guidance for how technology is used in classrooms, and five teachers at Creekland MS have attained ISTE certification.  The global organization of educators has a focus on the use of technology to transform teaching and learning and has standards for students and teachers.
