Links to Core Instructional Resources
The CCSD School Board's Core Belief #2 is "Employees are trusted and supported as professionals and provided with resources to elevate student outcomes." Their collective commitment to ensuring teachers have access to tightly aligned resources is further clarified in Policy BAB, School Board Governance, and IFAA, Instructional Resources. Additionally, CCSD School Board envisions a balance of print and digital resources for students and families that promote student work at the level of the standard and connects the classroom to the kitchen table to extend learning at home.
In 2024-25, we reviewed the tools and materials available to our teachers and students by holding 165 teacher focus group meetings, visiting nearly 200 classrooms, holding a series of student focus groups, and listening to parent focus group feedback about their students' experiences in CCSD.
What We Heard From our Parents
Across the district, parents consistently shared that they need:
- More access to print resources and textbooks/student workbooks
- More insight into how to help their student at home
- A greater focus on reading and writing
- More support for students who need additional time or opportunities to learn the standards
What We Heard from Teachers
Across the district, teachers shared that they need:
- Consistent, comprehensive standards-aligned instructional resources all tightly connected
- Readily available supplemental resources aligned to the standards and skills
- An organized system for accessing resources by grade level and subject
What We’re Doing
In response, and in alignment with our School Board’s Policy BAB that calls for a Cohesive System of Teaching and Learning, we are making improvements to the resources available to teachers and students for the 2025–26 school year. The following new resources have been adopted for 2025-2026:
- English Language Arts (ELA), Grades K–12: CCSD will use Savvas Learning Company for grades K–12, with Heggerty and Fundations for supplemental phonemic awareness and phonics support in grades K–3.
- Math, Grades K–12: CCSD will use Savvas Learning Company for grades K–8 and Cengage for algebra, geometry, and advanced algebra in high school.
