National Teacher Appreciation Month
May 5-9 is National Teacher Appreciation Week! Pictured above are our 2025 CCSD Teachers of the Year for each of our schools and centers. A new TOTY profile will be added to the page each day.
It’s Teacher Appreciation Month, and we’re celebrating our teachers’ unparalleled talent and unmatched dedication with special surprise presentations! Thanks to the support of our outstanding partner, Credit Union of Georgia, we invited parents to nominate outstanding CCSD teachers making a positive difference in their child’s life. We then randomly selected six “Thank a Teacher” honorees who each will be presented with a $200 Visa gift card.
Our surprise honorees--
Diane Roberts, Little River Elementary School, reacts with surprise to see Superintendent of Schools Mary Elizabeth Davis and School Board member Chance Beam bringing flowers and gifts.
Liberty Elementary School teacher Brianna Porter reacts to Superintendent Davis and School Board member Kelly Poole bringing her flowers and gifts during Teacher Appreciation Week.
Woodstock Middle School teacher Sarah Seastrom shares a high five with student Jackson Henriques, whose mother Kate nominated her, after School Board member Erin Ragsdale presents her with roses.
Oak Grove Elementary School STEAM Academy first grade teacher Taylore Belcher, a former Oak Grove Eagle herself, poses with her class along with School Board Chair Janet Read Welch, Superintendent Mary Elizabeth Davis, and Credit Union representative Mike Gibson. Ms. Belcher was nominated by Ella Garrick's mother, Megan.
School Board Vice Chair Patsy Jordan presents Creekland Middle School teacher Robin Moss with roses as part of Teacher Appreciation surprise visits.
Cherokee High School physics teacher Wesley Queen shares a laugh with Superintendent Davis, School Board member Kelly Poole, and student Morgan Moon, whose mother nominated Queen.
