Assessment Note:  

Georgia Milestones, Spring 2026 End of Course (EOC) and End of Grade (EOG) Scores
 Due to the implementation of new state English Language Arts content standards, student score reports for ELA EOGs and EOCs will be delayed until late 2026. Score reports will be shared with parents as soon as they are released by the state.

Home Study Students (Senate Bill 63)

The 2025 legislative session created Senate Bill 63 effective July 1, 2025.  The new legislation requires public schools to offer PSAT/NMSQT, SAT, Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB), and AP exams to home study students living inside the school district boundaries.

The registration information below is for students residing in Cherokee County School District boundaries who have an approved home study plan on file with the Georgia Department of Education.

Private school students should seek registration information from their enrolled private school.  

Students who attend Cherokee County School District via SB 42, the Dexter Mosley Act (DMA), are CCSD students, have a CCSD  student ID, and will test at the CCSD zoned school.

Registration Information

  • SAT Suite of Assessments (PSAT 8/9, PSAT/NMSQT, and SAT School Day): Home Study students who reside within Cherokee County School District attendance boundaries are eligible to participate in the district's Wednesday, October 28, 2026 administration. 9th-grade students may register and pay to take the PSAT 8/9. The State of Georgia funds the PSAT/NMSQT for all 10th-grade students. 11th-grade students may register and pay to take the PSAT/NMSQT to be considered for the National Merit Scholarship Program. 11th- and 12th-grade students may also register and pay to participate in SAT School Day.
  • Registration opens Monday, August 17, 2026, and closes Friday, September 18, 2026.

  • AP Exams: Advanced Placement (AP) Exams are college-level tests to evaluate mastery of specific high school AP courses, which may earn college credit depending on scores received and accepting universities.
  • Registration - OPENS Monday, August 31, 2026, and CLOSES Friday, October 30, 2026.
