Fine Arts, in Cherokee County Schools, is the study of Music, Arts and Theatre. All elementary students receive regular art and music instruction. Students in middle school rotate through quarterly Connections classes that may include visual arts or theatre and can select yearlong options for band and chorus. High schools offer a full array of arts courses and performance groups, as well as a Fine Arts Pathway and selected AP courses. Students may also audition for the Governor's Honors Program in the area of Fine Arts, as well as select arts competitions held by Georgia High School Association.
Each spring, through a partnership with Woodstock Arts, the CCSD Festival of the Arts is held in downtown Woodstock displaying K-12 art and highlighting K-12 music and theatre performances. CCSD also participates in an Art Exchange with a school district in Japan annually, where student work is exchanged for the year and displayed.
CCSD has an emphasis on Fine arts at Hasty Elementary School Fine Arts Academy and Oak Grove Elementary School STEAM Academy (STEM + fine arts) where the arts are integrated into K-5 instruction. Parents can choose for their children to attend a Fine Arts Academy each February during school reassignment (for the following school year).
