The Remedial Education Program (REP) is a state-funded instructional program. REP is designed to serve students in grades 6-12 who are at-risk of not reaching or maintaining academic grade level in English Language Arts (ELA) and/or mathematics. This goal is accomplished by identifying those students who have not performed well on local assessments (easyCBM reading screeners), state assessments (Georgia Milestones) and/or have failed ELA or mathematics the previous school year. Eligible students are provided additional instructional resources that enable them to obtain the necessary academic skills to reach grade level performance in the shortest possible time. REP students are typically served in a reduced class model where the number of students in the REP is class is lower than other classrooms. REP student performance is monitored on an ongoing basis to ensure that students are making progress or to recommend additional support services that may be needed. REP services are available to eligible students at all Cherokee County Middle and High Schools. Please contact your child’s school for more details.
