2024 High School Summer School

CCSD 2024 High School Credit Summer School will be offered with options for Credit Recovery and Initial Credit as detailed below.  Registration begins April 15, 2024.

After student registration has been reviewed, families will receive an email which includes a link for making payment for summer courses.

There are two CCSD options for taking Initial Credit Personal Fitness or Health.  (Cost $200 per .5 unit course)

Personal Fitness and Health:  Initial Credit virtual (option1)

  • June 3-July 19, 2024
  • CCSD virtual 6-week course taught by CCSD teacher via Canvas.
  • Students may register for both courses.
  • Registration fee is $200.00 per .5 unit course.
  • Register and pay online through May 24, 2024.

Personal Fitness and Health:  Initial Credit in-person (option 2)

  • June 3-June 21, 2024
  • CCSD in person 3-week course taught at Cherokee High School (students from Cherokee, Creekview, Sequoyah) or Woodstock High School (students from Woodstock, Etowah, and River Ridge)
  • In person at Cherokee High School and Woodstock High School
    • Personal Fitness (8:00 am-12:00 pm)
    • Health (12:30 pm – 4:30 pm)
  • Daily attendance is mandatory.
  • Students may register for both courses.
  • Registration fee is $200.00 per .5 unit course.
  • Register and pay online through May 24, 2024.

Credit Recovery

  • June 3– June 21, 2024
  • Offered for students who need to retake classes not passed during the regular school year.
  • Cost $200 per .5 unit course.
  • In person at Cherokee High School (students from Cherokee, Creekview, Sequoyah) or Woodstock High School (students from Woodstock, Etowah, and River Ridge)
    • Semester A courses (8:00 am-12:00 pm)
    • Semester B courses (12:30 pm – 4:30 pm)
  • Daily attendance is mandatory until course is complete.
  • Students may register for a maximum of 2 courses.
  • Students enrolled in credit recovery for Algebra Concepts & connections B; American Literature B, Biology B and US History B, must take the Ga Milestone EOC on the following dates:

June 12, 2024    8:00 am               Algebra Concepts & Connections

June 13 , 2024   8:00 am               American Literature (Section 1)

June 14 , 2024   8;00 am               American Literature (Section 2 and 3)

June 17, 2024    8:00 am               Biology

June 17, 2024     10:00am              US History

  • Registration is online through May 29th and in person May 30th.

General Information:

All Cherokee County School District rules and regulations apply during Summer School. For in-person courses, there must be an adequate number of students registered for a course before it will be offered at the High School site.  When registration numbers are too low at one site, efforts will be made to merge the students into the course at another campus. Students will be notified by the Summer School Administrator if there is a change to the location of the course.  

Students who elect to enroll in Summer School understand the following:

•    Each course is worth .5 unit of credit.
•    A student may take a maximum of two courses.
•    Each summer school course is 60 hours of course work.
•    Course work must be completed within the Summer School window. 
•    Attendance is mandatory for these courses. 
•    Breakfast and lunch will be provided to students on campus.

Transportation is not provided.  Please ensure students have transportation in the timeframe below.
