2023 High School Summer School

CCSD 2023 High School Credit Summer School will be offered from June 5– June 23, 2023 with options for Credit Recovery and Initial Credit as detailed below.  

In addition to offering courses for students who need to retake classes not passed during the regular school year, Personal Fitness and Health courses will be offered to rising ninth-graders (and others who may need it) for initial high school credit.

Credit Recovery

  • Facilitated by a certified teacher
  • In person at all high school campuses
    • Semester A courses (8:00 am-12:00 pm)
    • Semester B courses (12:30 pm – 4:30 pm)
  • Daily attendance is mandatory.
  • Students may register for a maximum of 2 courses.
  • The students who take American Literature B, Biology B, US History B and Algebra 1B are required to take the EOC during the summer term to receive credit for the course.
  • There is no registration fee.  Students may be assessed a fee at a later day for an incomplete course.
  • Registration is online through May 26th and in person June 1-2.

Personal Fitness and Health:  Initial Credit  

  • Taught by a certified teacher
  • In person at all high school campuses
    • Personal Fitness (8:00 am-12:00 pm)
    • Health (12:30 pm – 4:30 pm)
  • Daily attendance is mandatory.
  • Students may register for both courses.
  • Registration fee is $200.00 per course.
  • Register and pay online through May 26, 2023.

General Information:

There must be an adequate number of students registered for a course before it will be offered at the High School site.  When registration numbers are too low at one site, efforts will be made to merge the students into the course at another campus. Students will be notified by the Summer School Administrator if there is a change to the location of the course.  

Students who elect to enroll in Summer School understand the following:

•    Each course is worth .5 unit of credit.
•    A student may take a maximum of two courses.
•    Each summer school course is 60 hours of course work completed over 15 days.
•    Course work must be completed within the Summer School window. 
•    Attendance is mandatory for these courses. 
•    Breakfast and lunch will be provided to students on campus.

  • All Cherokee County School District rules and regulations apply during Summer School.
  • Transportation is not provided.  Please ensure students have transportation in the timeframe below.
