2025 High School Summer School

CCSD 2025 High School Credit Summer School will be offered with options for Credit Recovery and Initial Credit as detailed below.  Registration begins April 9, 2025.

After student registration has been reviewed, families will receive an email with a link for making payment for summer courses.

Personal Fitness and Health:  Initial Credit Virtual 

  • June 2-July 18, 2025 / Mid-summer break June 30-July 4 

  • CCSD virtual 6-week course taught by CCSD teacher via Canvas. 

  • Work completed asynchronously off-campus with weekly pacing. 

  • Students may register for both courses. 

  • Registration fee is $200.00 per .5 unit course. 

  • Register and pay online through May 16, 2025. Payment is due by May 23, 2025. 

 

Credit Recovery

  • June 2– June 20, 2025 

  • Offered for students who need to retake classes not passed during the regular school year. 

  • Cost $200 per .5 unit course. 

  • In person at Cherokee High School (students from Cherokee, Creekview, Sequoyah) or Etowah High School (students from Woodstock, Etowah, and River Ridge) 

    • Morning Session (8:00 am-12:00 pm) 

    • Afternoon Session (12:30 pm – 4:30 pm) 
       

  • Daily attendance is mandatory until course is complete. 

  • Students may register for a maximum of 2 courses. 

  • Students enrolled in credit recovery for Algebra Concepts & Connections B; American Literature B, Biology B and US History B, must take the Ga Milestone EOC on the following dates: 

June 11, 2025    8:00 am              American Literature (Section 1)  

June 12, 2025   8:00 am              American Literature (Section 2 and 3)  

June 13, 2025   8:00 am            Algebra Concepts and Connections        

June 16, 2025    8:00 am               Biology 

June 16, 2025     10:00am          US History 

  • Registration is online through May 28th and in person at CHS and EHS on Thursday, May 29th from 8:30am-12:00pm.

General Information:

All Cherokee County School District rules and regulations apply during Summer School. For in-person courses, there must be an adequate number of students registered for a course before it will be offered at the High School site.  When registration numbers are too low at one site, efforts will be made to merge the students into the course at another campus. Students will be notified by the Summer School Administrator if there is a change to the location of the course.  

Students who elect to enroll in Summer School understand the following:

•    Each course is worth .5 unit of credit.
•    A student may take a maximum of two courses.
•    Each summer school course is 60 hours of course work.
•    Course work must be completed within the Summer School window. 
•    Attendance is mandatory for these courses. 

Transportation is not provided.  Please ensure students have transportation in the timeframe below.
