HB 845 Audit
House Bill 845 was submitted by the Cherokee County Legislative Delegation and approved by the Georgia General Assembly during the 2025 session for an additional audit of the Cherokee County School District, with local funds to be used for the cost of the five-year review. In January 2026, the School Board approved the only qualifying firm, Carr, Riggs and Ingram, LLC, to conduct the work at a cost to local taxpayers of $3.2 Million. The firm will give quarterly updates at School Board meetings throughout the period of the audit term, and the first report was given at the July 23, 2026 meeting.
