Certified Educator and Classified (non-teaching) Positions

Thank you for your interest in the Cherokee County School District!  CCSD uses a paperless, online application process for prospective employees — PowerSchools TalentEd. This system allows you to complete both classified and certified applications. You must attach electronic files as listed below for appropriate positions for which you apply. You may also attach other electronic files if you choose.

Applicants should have ready a minimum of 3 professional contacts/names and email addresses for the required electronic references.  Include your most recent supervisor or employer. Upload cover letters, resumes, certificates or other documents that highlight your qualifications.  The list below includes those typically required or recommended based on the job classification:

For Certified Positions:

  • College transcript(s): Unofficial copies acceptable for application purposes
  • Educator certificate, if applicable. For certificate information, Georgia applicants may visit Out-of-state candidates may attach a current certificate, but must secure Georgia certification for employment. Contact for information.
  • Copy of required license(s), if applicable
  • Resume including dates of employment (Ex: July 2010–June 2015); position or title; roles/responsibilities; training and/or awards for each employer
  • Cover letter

For Classified Positions:

  • Resume including dates of employment (Ex: July 2010–June 2015); position or title; roles/responsibilities; training and/or awards for each employer

  • Copy of required test scores, if applicable
  • College transcript, if applicable

For Substitute Teaching:

New substitute teaching applications are accepted for those who hold a valid or expired, clear renewable Georgia professional teaching certificate.  For applicants with an out-of-state certificate, college experience, or a high school diploma/GED, attendance at a Cherokee County School District Substitute Training Workshop is required prior to approval for substitute positions.  All pre-employment processes apply, including the Georgia Criminal History Record Inquiry and fingerprinting.

Employment Process

The application and all requested information (including three completed references) must be submitted. Additionally, all applicants are required to read and acknowledge critical School District policies, procedures and other training as required by state and/or federal law (Critical Issues). 

Upon offer of a position, applicants are required to be fingerprinted by the Cherokee County School District Police Department at an applicant cost of $45.00 which is payable with exact cash, money order, personal check made out to Cherokee County School District, or by credit card ($2.15 processing fee applies).
