Georgia Climate Survey
This year the Georgia School Climate Surveys (GSCS) for students, teachers, staff, and families will replace the Georgia Student Health Survey (GSHS), the Georgia Parent School Climate Survey (GPSCS), and the Georgia School Personnel Survey (GSPS). This new suite of surveys, aligned with Georgia’s Systems of Continuous Improvement, will provide more actionable data for district and school leaders, reduce the number of questions for students, and eliminate most other GaDOE survey requirements. Responses are confidential-- names are not linked to these surveys.
There are surveys for four specific audiences:
- Parents/Family
- Students (grades 3-5 and grades 6-12)
- Teachers
- Support Staff

Dear Parents/Guardians,
The partnership between the Cherokee County School District and the families of our students is highly valued as we work collectively toward Elevating the Excellence for all students.
As part of the requirements of the College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI), students, parents, and staff members will be asked to complete the Georgia Climate Survey (formally known as the Georgia Health Survey). The Georgia Student Climate Survey (GSCS) is an anonymous, statewide survey instrument created by the Georgia Department of Education in collaboration with other state partners. The GSCS is administered online each year to students in grades 3-12. Middle and high school students (grades 6-12) participate in the standard survey and elementary students (grades 3-5) participate in an abbreviated survey. Survey results assist in the identification of safety, climate, and health issues that impact student achievement and help guide school prevention and intervention strategies.
The CCSD participation window for the Georgia School Climate Survey is scheduled for February 11th through March 7th. Each school has devised an individual plan for conducting the survey and will share more information regarding the Georgia Parent Survey with you. If you prefer that your student(s) opt-out of the Georgia School Climate Survey, please use the link provided in the SY2024-2025 Cherokee County School District Student Parent Handbook (English page 36 and Spanish page 38). The CCSD Student Parent Handbook can be found HERE
