My name is Annissa Hackney and I am a 7th Grade ELA Teacher at ET Booth Middle School. I hold certifications in Middle School ELA, Reading, Social Studies, Science, and Math. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Middle Grades Education, a Reading Endorsement, and a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Georgia Southern University. I will complete my Educational Specialist degree from Piedmont College in December.
This will be my sixth year teaching at Booth. During that time, I have served as School Council representative, Run Club Co-Sponsor, Student Book Club co-sponsor, and 7th Grade Advisement Lesson Planning Committee representative and 7th grade ELA PLC Facilitator. I was honored to be nominated for the Teacher of the Year at ET Booth in 2016-2017. Currently, I am the Assistant Band Director at Etowah High School and co-sponsor our Winter Guard Cadets here at Booth.
My husband Mike, a retired Marine, is a 7th grade Math teacher here at Booth, and we have two daughters- Kate and Emma, along with a goldendoodle- Phineas. Kate attends Etowah High School and Emma attends Bascomb Elementary School. We reside in Woodstock and are proud to be a part of the Falcon Family. I am excited about the opportunities to reach students and help make a difference in our community.
