Hello and welcome to ELA with Mrs. Pireva! This is my third, official schoolyear as a teacher at ET Booth Middle School though I have previous work experiences within Cherokee county. Being in the classroom is what makes me feel most at home, and it brings me joy to have the opportunity to meet such wonderful students that I get to watch grow into productive members of our community. Teaching is what I do, and I do it because I love helping students realize that there is art through language. Through literature, they can hone their craft and utilize reading and wiring as a unique way to express themselves. It makes me happy to know that I get to be a part of that!
Most of my students don’t know about a tiny country located in southeastern Europe named Kosovo, but they do when they leave my class because I am originally from that tiny country. It’s very important to me that my students know and appreciate the many cultures we each exhibit inside the classroom because a place is only as good as the people in it. Room 2213 may be just a place but the people in it make it special to me, and I look forward to growing alongside those people this year.
