My name is Elizabeth Hunter and I am a 6th grade Math and Science Teacher in the Special Education Department. Originally, from Savannah Georgia, I moved to Atlanta with my family when I was 12 years old. I attended the University of West Georgia, earning a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management. Out of college, I worked for Suntrust Banks as an Operations Officer until the birth of my daughter. When she started kindergarten, at Macedonia Elementary school, I took a secretary job with the Cherokee County School District. When she entered Creekview High School, I decided to fulfill a dream to become a teacher. I completed my Master of Arts in Teaching from Reinhart University and thus began my teaching career in August 2011. I am currently pursuing my Specialist Degree from Piedmont University. I will graduate in Summer 2021.
This is my 9th year of being a Special Education Teacher, and my 7th year at E.T. Booth Middle School. This year I will be teaching Resource Math and Resource Science, both Face to Face and Digitally. Being a Math and Science Special Education Teacher is more rewarding than I could have ever imagined.
Some of the activities I am involved with here at Booth include working at the EXP After School program helping to tutor students. I am on the Technology Committee and in the Math PLC. Between September and March, my favorite after school responsibility is being the 8th Grade Basketball Cheerleading Coach. Go Falcons!
