My name is Elizabeth Hunter and I am a 6th grade Math and Science Teacher in the Special Education Department. Originally, from Savannah Georgia, I moved to Atlanta with my family when I was 12 years old. I attended the University of West Georgia, earning a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management. Out of college, I worked for a Bank as an Operations Officer until the birth of my daughter. When she started kindergarten, I took a secretary job with the Cherokee County School District. When she entered High School, I decided to fulfill a dream to become a teacher. I completed my Master of Arts in Teaching from Reinhart University and thus began my teaching career in August 2011. I returned to college again and in the Summer of 2021, I earned my Specialist Degree from Piedmont University.
This is my 10th year of being a Special Education Teacher, and my 8th year at E.T. Booth Middle School. This year I will be teaching Resource Math and Resource Science. Being a Math and Science Special Education Teacher is more rewarding than I could have ever imagined.
Some of the activities I am involved with here at Booth include being on the Technology Committee and in the Science and Math PLC’s. Between September and March, my favorite after-school responsibility is being the 8th Grade Basketball Cheerleading Coach. Go Falcons!
