I began my career in education at the University of Maryland where I earned my Bachelor’s degree in education. I taught middle and high school prior to becoming a counselor. I earned my Master’s in Counseling at Bowie State University in Maryland, before moving to Georgia. I then received my Specialist’s degree in school counseling from Georgia State University. Having been in the classroom before working as a school counselor has enhanced my knowledge and understanding of the school system. I am a Nationally Certified Counselor, a Nationally Certified School Counselor, as well as a Licensed Professional Counselor. Since living in Georgia I have worked at Dean Rusk, Woodstock Middle and ET Booth. I love working with middle school students and their families as they navigate the transitions from childhood into adolescence. As a counselor, I have the opportunity to provide not only counseling, but also resources and consultation to help them reach their social, emotional and academic goals.
