My name is Elise Minichiello and I am excited to be teaching 8th grade Advanced Lit Comp and Advanced Literacy Workshop at E.T. Booth this year! I was born in Savannah, GA but grew up mostly in Central Illinois in a town called Normal. However, as most of my extended family lives in the state of Georgia, I've always thought of Georgia as home.
I did a full year of student teaching both 8th grade Social Studies and Language Arts in Illinois before graduating with a bachelor's degree in Middle Level Education from Illinois State University in May of 2017. After obtaining an Illinois teaching license in grades K-9 with endorsements for middle school Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies, I spent a year teaching 7th grade English in Illinois and coaching junior high level cross country and track. Even though I loved teaching in Illinois, in 2018 I decided it was time to return to my roots and come home to Georgia. I'm thrilled to be in my second year at Booth!
I have always loved everything reading and writing and love that I have the opportunity to teach both here at Booth. I personally believe that these are the years when students develop the habits of a life long learner and begin to find what they are truly passionate about. I am committed to doing all I can to fostering a love for learning and an excitement for knowledge in my students. If you should need to contact me, I can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.
