My name is John Hughes and I am the Spanish I teacher and a member of Lake Blackshear, as well as he Extended Day Programming Coordinator.
I grew up outside of Rome, Georgia. After high school, I attended Presbyterian College in Clinton, South Carolina where I was a four-year letterman in football. During my time there, I studied abroad in Seville, Spain. In 2003 I received my B.A. in Spanish and Secondary Education and recently completed my M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from Berry College.
This is my sixteenth year at E.T. Booth Middle School, during which time I have taught eighth grade Spanish every year and I taught Reading for a five-year period. I have been the ExP Coordinator since 2004 and have been a member of numerous committees and teams, including Data Management, Principal’s Leadership Team, AdvancED reaccreditation team, Olweus, and STEM Committee. I love the Eagle Mountain Community and I am excited to continue playing my part for kids here.
