My name is John Hughes and I am one of two Spanish I teachers on the Connections Team. I am the 504 Chair and Extended Day Programming Coordinator. I am currently 1 of 2 "House CEOs" for our new Falcon House System.
My wife Kimbell and I have a son, Wyatt, who is starting middle school this year and a goofy German Shepherd. We love to spend our time together watching college football, out on the water kayaking or fishing, and reading/watching the next thing from our favorite nerd franchises.
I grew up outside of Rome, Georgia. After high school, I attended Presbyterian College in Clinton, South Carolina where I was a four-year letterman in football. During my time there, I studied abroad in Seville, Spain. In 2003 I received my B.A. in Spanish and Secondary Education and I completed my M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction at Berry College.
This is my 18th year at E.T. Booth Middle School, during which time I have taught eighth grade Spanish every year and I taught Reading for a five-year period. I have been lucky to have been a member of numerous committees and teams over the years that help improve our school. I love the Eagle Mountain Community and I am excited to continue working with the children in our community.
