My name is Stephanie Heckendorf, although I prefer Stevie. I am currently a sixth grade science teacher. I was born and raised in Wyoming until I joined the Army to become a Turkish Interrogator, spending one year in Sinop Turkey and three years state side. Leaving the Army, I attended the University of Montana and transferred to the University of Utah where I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography. I love learning and wanted to pass that love on to children. I attended the University of West Georgia to receive my teaching certification. After teaching for several years, I received my Masters of Education in middle grades science from Kennesaw State University. I am currently pursuing my Specialist’s degree in Media Instructional Technology at the University of West Georgia. I have my Teacher Leadership, Gifted and English Speaker of Other Languages (ESOL) endorsements.
I have taught fourth and sixth grade science, social studies and reading, and eighth grade science. I have attended Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol (SIOP) training.
If you feel like socializing while you exercise, see me or email if you are interested in joining the Walking Club.
I am very excited to be a member of the E. T. Booth Middle School faculty and staff. I am honored to be working with our community children and their parents. You may contact me at Stephanie.firstname.lastname@example.org.
