Etowah will be celebrating their second annual kindness week, which they are calling Etowah Cares Kindness Week, from March 15th – March 19th.  Each day of the week will have a particular theme to show kindness and gratitude to all parts of the Etowah Community from school personnel to community sponsors.  Follow us on Twitter (@EtowahHS) as we emphasize the mantra “Be Kind!”. The week will also serve as a kickoff for the Etowah Cares 5K, which is VIRTUAL this year!  So you can run it wherever you want and with whomever you want!  Meet up with friends to walk, job, or run in support of mental health awareness!  All finishers will receive a finisher medal and a race t-shirt after they enter their time. Every step counts!  The race must be completed and the time entered by 11:59pm on March 31st to qualify for the finisher medal and race t-shirt.

This year’s Etowah Cares 5K continues its mission to change the stereotypes surrounding mental illness, build community, and help those living with depression, anxiety, and other disorders by supporting the organizations that help them the most. By participating you will be raising money to support local outreach programs that directly affect our students and raise awareness for a serious issue that has become a problem for so many across the country and in Cherokee county.  We will be donating all proceeds to sustain a financial assistance program we started with last year's proceeds at the Cherokee Center for Change where anyone in the community can go for access to mental health support.5 Day rundown
