Elementary students attend art class reguarly with a dedicated art teacher. In middle school, students may rotate through art as a Connections course. Some middle schools offer Visual Arts I for high school credit in 8th grade. In high school, a full array of visual arts classes is offered, including sculpture and photography. Dedicated art students may wish to complete a Fine Arts Pathway or complete a portfolio for AP Art Studio.
Each spring, through a partnership with the Cherokee Arts Center, art shows are hosted for elementary, middle and high school work throughout the spring at the Arts Center in Canton. CCSD also participates in an Art Exchange with a school district in Japan annually, where student work is exchanged for the year and displayed.
