CCSD Recognizes 2021 Superintendent's Key Scholars
The Cherokee County School District is celebrating 230 extraordinary high school students as Superintendent’s Key Scholars!
These outstanding sophomores and juniors were recognized, through the 16th Annual Superintendent’s Key Scholar Recognition Ceremony held virtually on Thursday night, for scores achieved on the Practice SAT (PSAT) that rank them in the top 10% nationwide. “You are in the top 10% of the nation, and that’s phenomenal,” Superintendent of Schools Dr. Brian V. Hightower said in his remarks to the Key Scholars. “This will be another star in your cap. We’re so proud to honor you this evening.”
Each will receive an embroidered “Key Scholar” letter-jacket patch. A new level of recognition has been added for sophomores and juniors who scored at the 95th percentile or greater on the PSAT this year; they also will receive a special cord to wear at their graduation ceremony. The Key Scholar program costs are sponsored by Cobb EMC and LGE Community Credit Union, CCSD Partners.
The Key Scholar Program is a districtwide academic recognition program, with recognition opportunities beginning with the Duke Talent Identification Program (TIP) search program in elementary school and leading up to National Merit Scholarship recognition in the high school senior year.
