Bethesda Community Clinic

PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT

BETWEEN

THE CHEROKEE COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION

AND

BETHESDA COMMUNITY CLINIC

 

This agreement entered into on this 18th day of April, 2024 by and between the Cherokee County Board of Education, hereinafter referred to as the “School Board” and Bethesda Community Clinic, hereinafter referred to as BCC.

WHEREAS, the School Board’s mission is to educate the emerging generation through learning environments designed to increase the performance of all students; and,

WHEREAS, one of the School District’s Priority Areas is Family, Partner and Community Engagement; and,

WHEREAS, BCC’s mission is to demonstrate the compassion of Christ by providing quality healthcare to those in need, to be a healthcare home for people in need of affordable care, and a solution for our growing county’s burdened healthcare system; and,

WHEREAS, BCC is a non-profit community health care provider located in Holly Springs, Georgia; and,

WHEREAS, BCC is a primary care provider offering free medical care for citizens of Cherokee County.  Additionally, BCC offers low-cost healthcare services for those who are uninsured or underinsured in Cherokee County; and,

WHEREAS, BCC is working with other agencies in Cherokee County to engage the community and assist in providing care to patients in need.

Now, therefore in consideration of the covenants and conditions set forth herein the parties agree as follows:

 

ARTICLE I

The parties agree that the foregoing recitals are true and correct and incorporated herein by reference.

 

ARTICLE II

The School Board will:

1.      Promote BCC programs and events through existing communication channels, as permitted by School Board policy.

2.      Provide referrals to BCC when applicable.

3.      Explore/pursue joint grant and professional development opportunities in both parties’ best interest.

 

ARTICLE III

BCC will:

1.      See patients, referred by the School Board to BCC for services, in a fashion consistent with BCC’s vision and consistent with BCC’s methods of providing services.

2.      Explore/pursue joint grant and professional development opportunities in both parties’ best interest.

3.      Accept all children/interested participants for participation within its programs without regard to their gender, race, political affiliation, age, national origin or handicapping condition or any other discrimination recognized and prohibited by State or Federal Law. Children/participants with handicaps must be provided all necessary levels of supervision and must be included within the activities of the partnering organization. As a result of this partnership agreement, BCC must adhere to all local, State or Federal laws regarding education.

4.      Agree to hold harmless and indemnify the School District against any claims, demands, losses or damages, including reasonable attorney’s fees, which may arise as a result of this contract.

 

ARTICLE IV

The term of this contract is April 18, 2024 through April 18, 2025.  This contract shall automatically renew for additional terms not to exceed five years unless either party notifies the other at least 60 days prior to renewal date.

 

ARTICLE V

This contract may be terminated by either party upon thirty (30) days written notice to the other party with or without cause. All notice of this contract shall be given to the Superintendent of Cherokee County Schools at PO Box 789, Canton, Georgia 30114, and to the Executive Director of Bethesda Community Clinic at 11 Mountain Brook Dr., Suite 100, Canton, GA 30115.
