Elementary students attend art class one day per week with a dedicated art teacher. In middle school, students may choose art as an elective, and advanced students can take Visual Arts I for high school credit. In high school, a full array of visual arts classes is offered, including sculpture and photography. Dedicated art students may wish to complete a Fine Arts Pathway or complete a portfolio for AP Art Studio.
Each spring, through a partnership with the Cherokee Arts Center, art shows are hosted for elementary, middle and high school work throughout the spring at the Arts Center in Canton. CCSD also participates in an Art Exchange with a school district in Japan annually, where student work is exchanged for the year and displayed.
