The History of The Ralph Bunche Center
The Ralph Bunche Center is an important part of Canton History. This historic building is named for American political scientist and Nobel Peace Prize recipient Ralph Bunche. The school began as the first African American high school for Cherokee County, back in the days of segregation. Proud graduates include an accomplished NASA astronaut, a politician, school principal, and even a judge. For many years now, the Ralph Bunche Center has housed Georgia Head Start, Pre-K, and preschool special education classes for the county. How lucky we feel to have had generations of children receive rich educational experiences inside this beloved building!
