SERV International

PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT

BETWEEN 

THE CHEROKEE COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION

AND 

SERV INTERNATIONAL

This Partnership Agreement is entered into on this 14th day of December, 2023, by and between the Cherokee County Board of Education, hereinafter referred to as the “School Board” and SERV International.

WHEREAS, the School Board’s mission is to educate the emerging generation through learning environments designed to increase the performance of all students; and,

WHEREAS, one of the School District’s Priority Areas is Family, Partner and Community Engagement; and,

WHEREAS, SERV International is a non-denominational, faith based non-profit organization headquartered in Canton that dedicates its talents and resources toward serving God through physically and spiritually feeding people and developing stronger communities worldwide.

Now therefore, in consideration of the covenants and conditions set forth herein the parties agree as follows:

ARTICLE I

The parties agree that the foregoing recitals are true and correct and incorporated herein by reference

ARTICLE II

The School Board will:

1.      Promote SERV International programs and events through existing communication channels, as permitted by School Board policy.

2.      Allow SERV International program information and/or applications to be made available to social workers, school counselors and other appropriate parties to then be made available to eligible children.

3.      Allow SERV International distribution events to be held in CCSD facilities as available, waiving the rental fee as per the Community Use of System Facilities Policy (KG).

4.      The Office of School Operations will regularly communicate to SERV International information about new opportunities to help students in need, such as through care closets, food drives, holiday gift drives, etc.

5.      Pursue joint grant opportunities in both parties’ best interests.

ARTICLE III

SERV International will:

1.      Support opportunities, as donations allow, to help students in need, such as through food pantries, care closets and requests for emergency assistance with food, household goods, etc. 

2.      Use its referral network of additional community organizations to further assist with such requests.

3.      Contact appropriate School Operations personnel to explain the purpose of SERV International programs, which will then electronically distribute information and/or applications to school counselors, social workers and other appropriate parties to then be made available to eligible children.

4.      Abide by the rules and regulations contained in the facility use contract at each school facility and those contained in the Community Use of System Facilities Policy (KG), including custodial and supervisory fees when applicable.

5.      Pursue joint grant opportunities in both parties’ best interests.

6.      Accept all children for participation within its programs without regard to their gender, race, political affiliation, age, national origin or handicapping condition or any other discrimination recognized and prohibited by State or Federal Law.  Children with handicaps must be provided all necessary levels of supervision and must be included within the activities of the partnering organization.  As a result of this partnership agreement, SERV International must adhere to all local, State or Federal laws regarding education.

ARTICLE IV

The term of this agreement is December 14, 2023 through December 14, 2024, and shall automatically renew for additional terms not to exceed five years unless either party notifies the other at least 60 days prior to renewal date.

 ARTICLE V

This agreement may be terminated by either party upon thirty (30) days written notice to the other party with or without cause. All notice of this agreement shall be given to the Superintendent of Cherokee County Schools at PO Box 769, Canton, GA 30114 and to the Local Outreach Director or SERV International at 3145 Marietta Highway Canton, GA 30114, or such other address if notice is given by either party of a new address pursuant to this notice section.
