Starting School with A Focus on Safety

Starting School with A Focus on Safety

In the Cherokee County School District, we believe there is nothing more important than providing our students with the highest quality education in the safest schools possible. New investments in safety and security this year include body cameras for all school police officers and the addition of three campus security monitors at our three multi-building high school campuses (Cherokee HS, Etowah HS and Sequoyah HS). In addition, expanded use of security window film at campus building is continuing, along with security camera enhancements. Today Superintendent Mary Elizabeth Davis conducted a safety walk at Cherokee High School with Chief Buster Cushing to confirm new strategies and training have been incorporated into campus procedures. Learn more about our school safety and security enhancements by reviewing recent safety reports on our website here-
