Call for Nominations for CCSD Educators Hall of Fame Class of 2026

The Cherokee County School District is calling for nominations of outstanding retired educators for its hall of fame!

The CCSD Educators Hall of Fame recognizes retired educators who made significant contributions during their career in CCSD and left a lasting positive impact on the lives of students, colleagues and our community.

As many as 10 winners who meet the judging committee’s expectations of excellence will be selected into a class each year.  Class of 2026 inductees will be notified in mid to late January and honored in February with a celebratory reception sponsored by the Cherokee County Educational Foundation.

Current members are: Pamela Bowman, the late Carter Browning, Dr. Susan Buice, Letitia Cline, Marguerite Cline, Lawrence Fitts, Ruth Flowers, Jackie Hopkins, Pete Jones, Patsy Jordan, Gene Norton, Dr. Susan Padgett-Harrison, Dr. Frank R. Petruzielo, Janice Prather, Frankie Shepherd, the late Kate Smithwick, the late Lee R. Tippens, Carolyn Turner, Jack Weaver, and the late Dorothy “Dot” Whitfield.

Nominations may be made through Dec. 31, 2025 using the online form at https://tinyurl.com/CCSDHallofFame26.  Nominees must be retired CCSD teachers or certified administrators who served a minimum of 20 years with the district or served as Superintendent; posthumous nominees will be accepted.  There is no minimum number of years for which a nominee must be retired, and they do not have to reside in Cherokee County.  A nominator may make one nomination.
