CCSD Begins New Monthly Recognition for High School Athletes
CCSD Female Athlete of the Month Julia Moore of Sequoyah High School is congratulated by softball Coach Lisa Chapman and BSN representative George Jones. CCSD Male Athlete of the Month Drew Burmeister of Woodstock High School is congratulated by football Coach Dan Devine and BSN representative Brittney Morgan.
The Cherokee County School District this week began a new monthly recognition for outstanding high school athletes.
A CCSD Female Athlete of the Month and Male Athlete of the Month will be recognized each month.
Congratulations to the first two winners: Julia Moore of Sequoyah High School for softball, whose coach is Lisa Chapman; and Drew Burmeister of Woodstock High School for football, whose coach is Dan Devine!
Outstanding student athletes are nominated by their high schools, and a committee selects an overall winner. The winners receive a T-shirt sponsored by BSN, a certificate and recognition on CCSD’s athletics website and social media.
