CCSD Celebrates Six Students Achieving Eagle Scout

Six Cherokee County School Districts students have achieved Eagle Scout this winter!

Congratulations to: Woodstock HS senior Brayden Berry, River Ridge HS ninth-grader Colin Fedoruk, Creekview HS junior Max Hamlin, Creekland MS eighth-grader William Sarks, Woodstock HS senior Jackson Standish, and Mill Creek MS eighth-grader Robert Walker!  Thank you to Scouts BSA, a CCSD Partner, and thank you to our School Board for its longtime support of community partnerships.

Eagle Scout is the highest rank in the Scouts BSA program, and only about 4% of Scouts achieve this accomplishment by earning at least 21 merit badges, holding a leadership position, completing a community service project, and passing a board of review.  This school year, we’ve started a new tradition of honoring our students who have earned this top honor with recognitions at School Board meetings; the recognition to honor these Eagle Scouts will be held this month.

For their Eagle Scout projects, these Scouts completed the following service projects: Brayden, of Troop 641, built a donation box for an animal shelter and held a supply drive; Colin, of Troop 625, restored a community trail; Max, of Troop 465, built new fencing for a local farm; William, of Troop 1755, built 15 bluebird houses; Jackson, of Troop 241, built swinging benches for Wildlife Action Center; and Robert, of Troop 625, built benches for his school’s track and completed a nature trail clean-up.
