CCSD Celebrates Spring STEM Essay Contest Winners
The Cherokee County School District is celebrating winners of the third annual Sixth-Grade Spring STEM Essay Contest!
Cobb EMC & Gas South, a CCSD Partner, sponsors two contests every school year – one in the fall and one in the spring -- to recognize student excellence in communicating STEM concepts. The top essays from each school earn their writers cash prizes. Congratulations to the winners and their teachers, thank you to Cobb EMC & Gas South, and thank you to our School Board for its continued investment in STEM learning and literacy!
The first-place $50 prize winners are: of Creekland MS, Naomi Grebenyuk; of Dean Rusk MS, Lillian Falter; of E.T. Booth MS, Bentleigh Kelly; of Freedom MS, Izaya Atterberry; of Mill Creek MS, Ansley Henninger; of Teasley MS, Walker Manley; and of Woodstock MS, Alondra “Sophia” Alvarenga.
The first-place $40 prize winners are: of Creekland MS, Saatvik Abhineesh; of Dean Rusk MS, Maya Hursh; of E.T. Booth MS, Summer Roche; of Freedom MS, Charlee Simpson; of Mill Creek MS, Emily Millard; of Teasley MS, Olivia Dickens; and of Woodstock MS, Ariel “Alexander” Tercero Galindo.
