CCSD Celebrates Students Achieving Eagle Scout

Two Cherokee County School Districts students achieved Eagle Scout this fall!

Congratulations to: Sequoyah High School senior Johnathan Miller of Troop 8880 and Woodstock High School senior Myles Trudeau of Troop 241!  Thank you to Scouts BSA, a CCSD Partner, and thank you to our School Board for its longtime support of community partnerships.

Eagle Scout is the highest rank in the Scouts BSA program, and only about 4% of Scouts achieve this accomplishment by earning at least 21 merit badges, holding a leadership position, completing a community service project, and passing a board of review.  We’re beginning a new tradition of honoring our students who have earned this top honor, with fall and spring recognitions at our School Board meetings, and the first will be held later this month to honor these Eagle Scouts.

For his Eagle Scout project, Johnathan installed two memorial benches at Barrett Memorial Park in Holly Springs and added mulch to the playground and parking islands. Myles, for his Eagle Scout project, created outdoor gathering spaces for residents of the Cedarhurst Senior Living center in Canton including a patio for a fire pit, and two raised flower beds.
