CCSD Class of 2024 Graduates Earn Positive Athlete Georgia Scholarships

Four Cherokee County School District Class of 2024 graduates have earned Positive Athlete Georgia scholarships!

The nonprofit organization presents annual regional and state scholarships and awards as part of its mission to promote the benefits of positivity to young athletes around the world.  

Students are nominated by coaches, principals, athletic directors, teachers and parents.  In addition to demonstrating excellence in their sport, winners must show: optimistic attitude, teammate encouragement, servant leadership, heart for others, ability to admit imperfections, giving 100 percent all the time, and realizing the team as more important than the individual.

The $1,000 scholarships are presented by Positive Athlete Georgia in conjunction with sponsoring businesses.  

Congratulations to: 

Sayler Davies of Sequoyah HS, Do Amazing Things Award – Aylo Health.  Sayler additionally earlier this spring was named the regional Positive Athlete Georgia honoree for multi-sport girls.

Pierson Sears of Creekview HS, Do Amazing Things Award – Aylo Health.  Pierson additionally earlier this spring was named the regional Positive Athlete Georgia honoree for football.

Sydney Mynes of Creekview HS, Hope & Will Award – Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.  Sydney additionally earlier this spring was named the regional Positive Athlete Georgia honoree for volleyball.

Sophie Markham of Creekview HS, Wellness Ambassador Award – WellStar Health System.  Sophie, a tennis player, has served as a Positive Athlete Georgia Wellness Ambassador.
