CCSD School Wins $5,000 Competitive Grant for Books

Congratulations to Clayton Elementary School media specialist Sandy McPherson on earning a $5,000 grant from the Dollar General Literacy Foundation!  The grant will fund her project to update the school media center’s nonfiction collection with engaging titles that reflect today’s students and their interests. “Refreshing our collection will spark curiosity, encourage exploration, and give students access to the relevant resources they need to become confident readers, researchers, and lifelong learners,” she said.  We’re on a mission to be the highest-performing school district in Georgia where our students are learning more, growing more, and achieving more in our classrooms than they could anywhere else! #CCSDElevateTheExcellence
