CCSD Seniors Earn Future Educator Scholarships

Two Cherokee County School District graduating seniors have earned community scholarship awards.

Congratulations to Madeleine Blanchard of Etowah High School and Emily Pheifer of Woodstock High School for earning the $2,500 scholarships presented by Towne Lake Academy!  

The family owned and operated child development center awards two $2,500 scholarship each spring to graduating seniors who plan to earn an education degree and become a teacher.  Our School Board is laser focused on ensuring our students are learning more, growing more, and achieving more in our classrooms than they could anywhere else!

The scholarships are awarded based on an application, essay questions and references.  

Madeline will attend University of West Georgia to study elementary education. A four-year track and field varsity team member and two-year cross-country team member, Madeline also is a member of Beta Club.  She has volunteered for four years in her church’s Sunday childcare program and has worked before and after school for the past year at her church’s preschool and daycare program. 

Emily will attend Samford University to study elementary education.  Co-vice president of the Mu Alpha Theta math honor society and an executive board officer for Beta Club, Emily also is a Science National Honor Society member.  The Hillside Global Methodist Church Leadership Council Student Delegate, Emily also works part-time as an after-school enrichment program teacher and volunteers with her church including as a children’s ministry group leader and Bible camp counselor.
