CCSD Student Athlete Earns Positive Athlete Scholarship

A Cherokee County School District Class of 2026 graduate has been honored with a scholarship recognizing positive student athletes!

Logan Harmon, who graduated this spring from Cherokee High School, has earned the Britt Kearce Memorial Scholarship announced by Positive Athlete Georgia.

The scholarship honors the legacy of Coach Britt Kearce, with three $3,000 scholarships presented annually to high school baseball players “who exemplify the values he lived by: a deep love for the game, a relentless commitment to self-improvement, and a positive impact on those around them.”  More than 300 high school baseball players were nominated this year.

Logan, who served as the Cherokee High School baseball team’s varsity pitcher, also led in his school as a First Priority co-leader and in his community as a church volunteer.  “He actively mentors youth players through coaching and lessons, embodying humility, faith, and servant-leadership,” Positive Athlete Georgia shared in its announcement.

Logan and the other two honorees will be recognized at the June 20 Gwinnett Stripers baseball game, where they will throw out the first pitch and enjoy a reception with their family and friends.
