CCSD Student Selected for U.S. Department of State Program

A Cherokee County School District student has been selected for a U.S. Department of State-sponsored study abroad program.

Etowah High School rising junior Brady May this August will travel to Germany as part of the CBYX (Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange) program, a partnership between the State Department and the German government.  Congratulations to Brady!  Our School Board is laser focused on ensuring our students are learning more, growing more, and achieving more in our classrooms than they could anywhere else.

Only 210 students nationwide were selected for the competitive program.  Selected students will live in Germany for the next school year, attending classes and serving as youth ambassadors.  Brady will live with a host family, hone his German language skills, embed himself in the culture, and share elements of U.S. culture with the people he meets there.
