CCSD Students Gain Workforce Insight at Employability Fair

Cherokee County School District high school students recently participated in a workshop to refine their employability skills.

The second annual CCSD Employability Fair welcomed 60 select students representing all six traditional high schools to learn more about resume writing, dressing for success, social media etiquette, interviewing and more.  Representatives from local businesses and organizations led presentations on job skills and facilitated mock interviews for the students, who currently plan to seek competitive employment after graduation.  

Representatives from the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce, Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services, Cherokee Sheriff’s Office, Revolution Church, Southeast Restoration, Universal Alloy Corporation, North Georgia Staffing and Goodwill participated in this year’s event.  Chick-fil-A, Cherokee County generously donated lunch for all participants and volunteers. 

“We want every student to graduate from our schools future ready, and this event is an important way to help those who plan to enter the local workforce upon graduation,” Superintendent of Schools Dr. Brian V. Hightower said.  “We greatly appreciate all of our partners who support the event, as your professional expertise and generosity truly makes a positive difference in these students’ lives.”
