CCSD Students Win at National Career Skills Competition

Five Cherokee County School District students have earned national honors for their career skills!

The Creekview High School team won sixth place in the country in the National FFA Convention’s veterinary science competition.  Team members are Natalie Giannini, Chloe Hiett, Ava Lindner, Amaya Nebel, and Cailyn Toney, and their Career Pathways agriculture teachers and FFA advisors are Chloe Lynch and Wyatt Wilkie.  Congratulations to our students and teachers and thank you to our School Board for its laser focus on ensuring our students are learning more, growing more, and achieving more in our classrooms than they could anywhere else!

The team qualified for the national competition, which tests both students’ knowledge and their hands-on veterinary skills, after winning first place in the statewide contest.  The team members additionally earned individual honors at the national event, with Amaya placing fifth overall and Chloe placing 14th among 180 contestants.  Cailyn earned a Gold ranking, and Natalie earned a Silver ranking.  The Cherokee County School Board and Superintendent of Schools will recognize the team at an upcoming School Board meeting.
