CCSD Welcomes More Than 200 New Educators at Orientation Event

Members of the Team Cherokee Class of 2025 gather for a group photo.  More than half of the participants are CCSD graduates, coming back to teach in the district where they were once students.

More than 250 newly hired teachers and professional support staff completed the two-day "Team Cherokee" orientation event for new educators this week.

The annual event offered teachers new to CCSD the opportunity to learn more about district operations, as well as hear from Superintendent of School Mary Elizabeth Davis about the mission and vision of CCSD and its laser focus on student learning.  CCSD's newest employees were also able to pick up their teacher laptop computer and get some initial instruction in the learning management system, as well as getting their teacher editions of textbooks and workbooks for the new ELA and math adoption.  Teachers learned in the closing moments of the final day that the Cherokee County Educational Foundation would reimburse newly hired educators up to $500 for classroom supplies!
