CCSDGives: CCSD Supports Cherokee Thanksgiving

Today’s #CCSDGives project is the districtwide effort to support Cherokee Thanksgiving!  CCSD students learn the value of service year-round through charitable projects and volunteering.  During the holiday season, our schools stay especially busy with these projects.  To increase our students’ positive impact in the community, we will regularly share details of these projects with you through CCSDGives posts including how you can help.

WHAT: Cherokee Thanksgiving

WHO: CCSD schools across the school district

WHY: Students are raising funds for Cherokee Thanksgiving, which provides free Thanksgiving meals on the holiday to those who would otherwise not have one (either due to economic reasons or because they will be working on the holiday, such as first-responders), and making cards for meal recipients.  Schools have raised money through costume contests, hat days and other fun activities.
