CCSDGives: Liberty Elementary School’s Angel Tree

Liberty ES first-grader Madelyn Harmon, left, and second-grader Abbey Fox choose ornaments from the school’s Angel Tree to fulfill gift card requests to help families in need.

Today’s #CCSDGives project is from Liberty Elementary School!  CCSD students learn the value of service year-round through charitable projects and volunteering.  During the holiday season, our schools stay especially busy with these projects.  To increase our students’ positive impact in the community, we will regularly share details of these projects with you through CCSDGives posts including how you can help.

WHAT: Liberty Elementary School’s Angel Tree

WHO: Schoolwide

WHY: Students and families donate gift cards to fulfill requests displayed on the school’s Angel Tree.  The donated gift cards are used to help the school’s families in need throughout the holiday season and remainder of the school year.  “It’s a true blessing to see how generous our community is and the kindness that the children show,” Principal Sandi Harrison said.

HOW CAN YOU HELP? Donations of gift cards can be dropped off at the school front office during school hours (7:35 a.m. to 2:15 p.m.) through Dec. 20.  For more information, please email
