Celebrating Our 2024 Teachers of the Year: Tippens EC!
We’re celebrating one of our amazing school 2024 Teacher of the Year honorees each day … Special Education high school math teacher Curtis Durham, a 10-year educator, is the Teacher of the Year for Tippens Education Center!
“Mr. Durham teaches far more than solving algebraic equations,” Principal Kim Barger said. “He teaches kindness by his actions toward his students. He models patience as he answers numerous questions, most of which have nothing to do with the subject at hand. Mr. Durham displays humor in his interactions with students, and he is phenomenal at establishing relationships with students. Mr. Durham is always respectful of his students and their perspectives. He truly embodies what every parent would want for their child to experience in a student-teacher relationship.”
